Fayzabad, Badakhshan, Afghanistan
Visited Fayzabad, Badakhshan, Afghanistan two weeks ago. Airport, or airstrip rather, was just a tarmac and an open field surrounded by these mountains. Badakhshan province has a special place in global health; they say it has one of the worst MMR and U5MR in the world. When you fly over these mountains, you certainly understand its remoteness and isolation that leads to difficulty to access of medical care.
It's a new day.
My wife insisted I should start a blog. I don't even know how it works. But I will give it a try.
Everyday is a good day to start something new.
